Miguel Ángel Given a Master Class at the Audemars Piguet Workshop in Le Brassus

Miguel Ángel took a stopover for the day to visit his long term Watch Partner, Audemars Piguet, at their exclusive headquarters in Le Brassus, in the heart of the Swiss Jura mountains, about 60 minutes from Geneva.

It had been a number of years since his last trip and so he took the chance to visit the fantastic new workshops and private museum, which holds many beautiful and priceless timepieces first created in 1875.  After meeting some of the craftsmen who are responsible for maintaining these classic items, Miguel Ángel and other guests, were treated to lunch at the home of Madame Jasmine Audemars, who still remains one of the owners from the company’s founding families.

Together with fellow AP Brand Ambassadors, Bernd Wiesberger and Andy Sullivan, the Pros and other guests were treated to a Master Class by the watch makers and then put to work themselves by attempting to decorate and assemble a watch movement.  Something that requires a considerable amount of patience and a huge amount of skill.

Finally, the AP Ambassadors were set a challenge by the Brand’s CEO and golf enthusiast, François-Henry Bennahmias, to hit archery targets from the rooftop terrace of the headquarters into a nearby field, with the incredible scenic views of the valley as a backdrop.

The media then had a chance to put their questions to Miguel Ángel, after which Audemars Piguet arranged to fly the Pros by helicopter from the Vallée de Joux up the mountain to Crans-sur-Sierre for their next stop on the European Tour tournament schedule, at the European Masters.

A fascinating day !
