Miguel Ángel wins the first PGA Tour Champions event of the decade in Hawaii

On Saturday evening at the Four Seasons Resort in beautiful Hualalai, Hawaii, Miguel notched up his 30th career victory at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship, after an exciting play-off against Ernie Els and Fred Couples.  Having come so close to a birdie on the 18th in regulation play to win the event, it was a 12 foot putt on the second hole in the play-off that secured the victory.

The win was particularly special for Miguel as the tournament Title Sponsor, Mitsubishi Electric, has been his Official Partner for the past five years.  In fact Miguel had previously won in his debut at the tournament back in 2015 and has always played well at Hualalai, a course that obviously suits him very well.

The victory is Miguel’s 9th since joining the PGA TOUR Champions in 2014 and his first tournament win of 2020.

Can he do the ‘double’ and win the Mitsubishi Electric Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Atlanta in April?
