Miguel secured his first win of the 2019 season on Sunday at The Classics, Lely Resort in Naples, Florida.
After a mixed starting round on Friday, Miguel followed up with two flawless rounds of 66 on both Saturday and Sunday and confirmed his spot with Olin Browne and last week’s winner, Bernhard Langer, in a play-off. At the first play-off hole, number 18, Miguel was the only player to make Par, sinking a five-foot putt in the process and which was good enough to seal the victory.
“I am really happy to get a win so early in the season at the Chubb Classic. I played solidly all week and especially these last two days, with no bogeys on the card at all. It was also great to have my son, Victor, here with me to enjoy the victory”.
“This win in February gives me a huge confidence boost going into the rest of the year and now I will enjoy a week off to celebrate a little in the Dominican Republic before heading up to Tucson for the next tournament”.
